The Annual Turkey Trot 5k/10k and Canned Food Drive
Dates & Times:
Pre-race Briefing: Saturday, November 23 at 7:45 a.m.
Race Start: Saturday, November 23 at 8:00 a.m.
Awards & Results Ceremony: Saturday, November 23 around 9:00 a.m.
Registration is now open. You may register in the Member Services Office of the Sanderson Center, which is open Monday - Thursday from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Fridays from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Fees & Requirements:
- $20 Early Registration (By end of the day November 1st)
- $25 Standard Registration (November 2 - 22)
- $30 Day of Registration (November 23rd)
You may pay by cash, check, or credit/debit card. Mississippi State Faculty, Staff, & Students may choose to have the fee credited to their university accounts.
All runners are asked to bring at least 3 canned good items to registration or to the race. You may also bring them to the Sanderson Center the week following the race.
All runners will complete a registration form & sign an Assumption of Risk & Release form.
We will once again use chip timing for the Turkey Trot. Each runner will be issued a chip to be tied to their shoe laces. This will record their start & end time for the race. Please return this chip to the race officials at the completion of the event.
Expect some changes to this year's course due to campus construction.
Maps will be posted in the front of the Sanderson Center prior to the race.
All distances are approximate. We will get as close as possible, but university roads, events, construction, and other factors may interfere with an exact 5k/10k route.
Prizes & Giveaways:
Each runner will receive a race shirt.
All registered participants will be entered into a raffle for door prizes.
We will announce winners for both the 5k and the 10k's top 3 male & female finishers. We will also announce the fastest Senior runner (55 years old and older) and Junior runner (15 years old and under).
All prizes are contingent on donations & support from local businesses.
Race Results & Awards will be announced after the race.
