10th Annual Outdoor Adventures Bouldering Competition

MSU Outdoor Adventure's 10th Annual Bouldering Competition April 7th

The 10th Annual Outdoor Adventures Bouldering Competition will take place at the climbing wall in the Sanderson Center on April 7th, 2017. Participants may participate in the bouldering phase of the competition any time between 4 pm and 6:35 pm. Participants need to plan on being at the climbing wall for at least an hour and a half to complete the bouldering phase of the competition. Registration will close at 6:00pm.

We will offer 20 bouldering routes with varying degrees of difficulty. Each individual will receive 10 attempts, and their top 8 scores will count towards the individual's final tally. In the event of a tie, we will have a hang-off; the person with the longer or longest hang wins.

The speed competition begins at 6:45. We will have two sections of the wall designated for the climb. Each participant gets an opportunity to climb each section twice. We take the best time from each section and add those numbers together. The person with the lowest total will win.

The award ceremony will begin at 7:30 pm. The competition is open to all levels, and prizes will be awarded to the top three climbers in each division (women's bouldering, men's bouldering, women's speed climbing, and men's speed climbing). Pizza will be provided and participants will receive a t-shirt. Shoes and harnesses will be provided as needed. Climbers will need to provide their own chalk, if desired.

Register in the Rental Center across from the rock wall Monday- Thursday 3:00 pm- 9:00 pm, Friday 9:00 am- 11:30 am and 2:00 pm- 4:00 pm.

All registered participants will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win one of many amazing prizes and giveaways donated by local stores and restaurants.

Proceeds: The money raised from this event will allow MSU Outdoor Adventures program to grow and provide more outdoor trips, clinics, and educational opportunities for students, faculty, and the Starkville community.
